Biography

Chris Barreto is a young jazz vibes and drum player rooted in the teachings and philosophy of the Jackie Mclean Institute of Jazz. He has studied with many great musicians including David Kovins, Ed Balsamo, Brian Carrott, Azonde Cummings, Rod Morganstine, and Eric McPhearson, as well as attending many workshops including Berklee College of music's 5 week performance program. Chris started his music career at Five Towns College in Long Island. Born and raised in Brooklyn NY he also has been playing professionally all over Brooklyn and Long Island with various groups such as the David Kovins trio, the Valbooks, Crooklyn Jazz Quartet, and also for community theaters. Fluent in many different styles such as jazz, latin, rock, funk, and hip-hop Chris also has experience in audio recording, beat making, and producing hip-hop albumns. He is currently available for private lessons, performances, and studio work.
